Support a cross-border acquisition from initial negotiations and due diligence through to signing and completion.

International mergers and acquisitions bring together commercial strategy, legal analysis and collaboration across multiple jurisdictions. At Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, our lawyers advise leading organisations on complex, high-value acquisitions, disposals and strategic investments around the world.

Modern transactions involve much more than agreeing a purchase price. M&A lawyers must understand the client’s commercial objectives, investigate the target business through due diligence, a detailed review used to verify information and identify legal, commercial and financial risks, coordinate stakeholders and negotiate protections that support a successful transaction.

In this job simulation, you will support Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s International M&A team on a proposed cross-border acquisition. As the transaction progresses, you will:

document the principal commercial termssupport the due diligence processassess and communicate key transaction risksconsider protections for the buyer in the acquisition agreementadvise the client as the transaction moves towards completion

You do not need previous legal knowledge to complete the simulation. The tasks are designed to develop the analytical thinking, commercial awareness and communication skills required to work effectively in a global law firm.

Step into the role of a junior M&A lawyer and experience how legal teams help clients navigate each stage of an international transaction.

This program is self-paced. It takes approximately 6-7 hours to complete.
