At BioBuild, we are building an AI platform that gives every scientist access to a bioinformatician. We are backed by Johns Hopkins University, Loyola University Maryland, the Maryland Innovation Initiative, Launch.Co, and Angel Investors, and have been recognized as a promising early-stage startup in our region.
In an early-stage startup, operations and storytelling are inseparable. We’re looking for an Operations Intern to keep recruiting, customer discovery, events, reporting, and external communications running smoothly, while also producing the LinkedIn posts, demo videos, pitch assets, and website updates that shape how researchers, investors, and partners see BioBuild. You’ll report directly to the founding team and own real deliverables from day one.
What You’ll Do
Operations & Administration
- Support coordination of an AI bioinformatics validation study: scheduling, tracking deliverables, organizing materials, and maintaining clear documentation across teams
- Build and maintain spreadsheet-based reporting, process management, and operational follow-through.
- Work closely with leadership on internal operating materials, pilot updates, and general administrative support across the organization
Brand, Content & Creative
- Draft, design, and schedule LinkedIn posts, founder updates, and ecosystem announcements that reflect BioBuild’s brand
- Produce visual assets: social graphics, one-pagers, pitch deck refreshes, event flyers, and email templates that keep the brand consistent across investor, customer, and recruiting touchpoints
- Help script, capture, edit, and publish short-form content including product demo videos, a company introduction video, and behind-the-scenes startup storytelling
- Support website and landing page updates and copy refreshes in coordination with leadership
You are a strong fit if you:
- Have a background in operations, business, communications, marketing, design, or a related field
- Can turn complex technical ideas into clear, engaging content for web, email, and LinkedIn
- Are comfortable producing on-brand visual assets in Canva, Figma, or similar tools
- Have hands-on experience with social media content creation, short-form video editing, and brand storytelling
- Know your way around CRM tools, spreadsheets, and dashboards
- Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and are genuinely excited about AI tools and their role in life sciences and scientific software
Tools You’ll Use
- Notion, Airtable/Supabase
- HubSpot or similar CRM
- Google Workspace
- Figma, Canva
- CapCut / Premiere / Descript
- Webflow or Framer
- Loom
- AI-enabled business tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini).
What You’ll Gain
- Direct experience building startup operations and external communications from early stage
- A portfolio of real, published deliverables: LinkedIn content, demo videos, pitch assets, dashboard systems
- Exposure to VC fundraising, academic pilot programs, and biotech customer discovery
