Full job description

Overview

The Global Business Solutions Group (“GBSG”) is Intuit’s largest business unit with $8B+ in revenue, serving 8M+ customers with the QuickBooks line of products including accounting, payments, payroll, capital lending and banking. The US GBSG Finance team is critical in driving business growth and profitability through strategic, financial and operational leadership. Within GBSG, the Desktop business is one of Intuit’s largest and most profitable segments — a complex, high-stakes portfolio that requires rigorous financial stewardship and forward-looking strategic thinking as the business evolves.

Responsibilities

Come join the Finance Team as a Principal Financial Analyst supporting our Desktop business. Main responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Planning: Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team in developing and refining 1- and 3-year strategic plans, proactively identifying risks and opportunities related to business growth and driving optimal investment decisions through data-driven insights and financial modeling expertise

  • Operational Excellence: Partner with Marketing, Analytics, and channel partners to develop and monitor key performance indicators, translating insights into actions that support achievement of our strategic and financial plans

  • Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to analyze complex business scenarios that inform our go-to-market strategy, including promotion, pricing, new sales channel opportunities, product portfolio decisions, and customer lifecycle economics

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reporting deliverables, including month-end close packages and variance analysis — to drive transparency into business performance and its underlying drivers. Partner with Accounting and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment of transactional activities

  • Process Improvement: Drive efficiency and continuous improvement by streamlining, standardizing, and automating processes and reporting requirements

  • Team Leadership: Operate in a leadership capacity, proactively influencing, coaching, and developing talent within the Finance organization and across cross-functional teams

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a seasoned finance professional with strong analytical and modeling skills, deep software or subscription-based business understanding, and a proven track record of acting as a strategic business partner to senior non-finance stakeholders. Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment is essential.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze complex business scenarios by building and improving financial models; Hyperion Essbase experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of data into clear, actionable recommendations for executive leadership

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive change and operational improvements

  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to shape decisions, behaviors, and business outcomes across all levels of leadership

  • Proven ability to lead teams to deliver exceptional results and drive business growth

  • Exceptional track record of initiative, prioritization, and integrity

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior business partners with confidence, conviction, and credibility

  • 10+ years in FP&A roles; experience with software, SaaS, or subscription-based businesses strongly preferred

  • BS/BA in Finance or Accounting; MBA a plus, or equivalent work experience
