Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Research Business Operations Summer Intern to join our Research department. This position is a full-time internship opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model. Please note, this position is ineligible for benefits. Reporting to the Senior Director of Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute, the Research Business Operations Summer Intern will gain hands-on experience by supporting the Research team with developing, organizing, and refining business operations workflows related to research administration, research accounting, and research project management.
You can expect to:
- Support the development and refinement of key research operations processes, including research participant recruitment, clinical trials billing workflows, grant proposal submissions, compliance tracking and maintenance of logs, and general research operations tasks as needed
- Collaborate with multiple supervisors and team leads, taking direction to support the smooth execution of research operations
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to streamline processes, track compliance, and improve workflow efficiency across research-related activities
What is required:
- Must be a current student enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Research, or a related field
- Ideal candidates will have some experience as a graduate research assistant or similar role, with an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare or research business leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data analysis tools is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
- Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. regional office as needed
- Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
- Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment
- Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
