In our general/product manager role at Progressive, you’ll have general management responsibilities that include managing the profit and loss (P&L) within a state or territory greater than $80MM. In this role, you’ll oversee a team of analysts and product specialists and work to profitably grow your business. Reviewing reports and data while aligning with state legislation, you’ll develop and implement a comprehensive strategy that enhances pricing and policies. You’ll position our products to meet client’s needs, outperform competitors, build company revenue, and meet key business area goals. Additionally, you’ll gain management experience by developing business strategies and leading implementation. You’ll also be able to tackle new and exciting challenges in larger states with P&Ls over $1B.
Locations: Cleveland, OH; Richmond, VA; or Austin, TX.
Expected Start Date: Summer 2025
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Math/Actuarial Science or related field of study (e.g. Statistics) or a bachelor’s degree and experience analyzing and interpreting quantitative data to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on that data
- Minimum of four years of property casualty insurance experience or related experience (e.g. analytical work in a professional setting)
Preferred skills
- Actively pursuing an MBA highly preferred (the ideal candidate for this position will complete their MBA degree by spring 2025 and be able to start full-time summer 2025)
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze, develop and manage strategies to penetrate competitor markets
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills used to gain support and commitment from others
Compensation
- $135,000 – $146,500/year
- Starting bonus
- Gainshare bonus up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
- Participation in our restricted stock units plan
