Smith Career Boutique – Elevate Your Professional Style

The Smith Career Boutique, located in 2530 Van Munching Hall in the Smith School of Business, is initiated by the Office of Career Services (OCS) and supported by the University of Maryland Business, Society and Entrepreneurship Scholars (BSE) program. We know first impressions matter and building a professional closet takes time and money. The boutique was created to offer free to rent new and lightly used professional attire to students preparing for job interviews, career fairs, or new jobs – so they can feel confident and prepared to elevate their professional brand.

The Smith Career Boutique is generously funded in part by the Enterprise Mobility Foundation.

How It Works

The Smith Career Boutique offers high quality new or gently used professional attire to all Smith students and students enrolled in BSE, QUEST, or Interdisciplinary Business Honors (IBH) programs.

Students can visit the Boutique to explore and try on attire, get styling advice, and rent clothing – for FREE! – for professional events, fairs, interviews and more. A small refundable fee is required.

After use, students dry clean attire and return to the Boutique.

The Boutique is located in 2530 Van Munching Hall next to the main Office of Career Services suite. Students can shop by appointment by contacting the boutique or visiting during the following open hours:

  • Tuesdays | 2pm-4pm
  • Wednesdays | 11am-1pm

Support the Boutique – Donate Professional Attire for Students

Want to support our students in style? The Boutique accepts new or gently used attire appropriate for professional business settings. Donations should be free of holes, stains, or extensive wear.

Please bring your dry cleaned donations to the University of Maryland Smith School Office of Career Services in 2570 Van Munching Hall (7699 Mowatt Lane, College Park, MD 20742), Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm.

Items accepted include:

  • Blazers
  • Pants or slacks
  • Button-down shirts and blouses
  • Dresses and skirts
  • Accessories including ties, belts, and shoes
  • New socks or hosiery
