About GPI
Good Planet Innovation has been catalyzing the entertainment industry’s shift toward sustainable and regenerative production practices for over 15 years, with 300+ productions greened to date. We work with film, television, commercial, and live event productions from concept to delivery to reduce environmental impact, elevate conscious storytelling, and integrate and normalize sustainable behaviors to inspire real-world change.
Our three core service areas are Production Sustainability, Regenerative Storytelling, and Ethical Brand Integration, and we operate across the United States and internationally. Our offices are located at The Lot at Formosa in West Hollywood, CA.
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about sustainability and looking to build real-world experience at the intersection of media, business, and environmental impact? This internship offers hands-on exposure to a rapidly evolving field, working directly with our team to advance our mission of inspiring a global shift to regenerative, healthy, and mindful living.
This is primarily a research-driven role, with opportunities to contribute to brand marketing and operations based on your background and interests. We’re open to candidates from a range of disciplines. Whether your strengths lie in entertainment strategy, communications, or operations, there’s meaningful work for you here.

Areas of Focus
Interns will primarily support research and strategy, with the opportunity to contribute across the following areas based on their skills and interests:
Entertainment Strategy & Research
Ideal for candidates with interest in media, communications, film/TV production, or business development.
- Research film and TV industry standards, union requirements, state-by-state tax incentives, and evolving sustainability practices
- Identify and curate potential clients, partners, and mission-aligned non-profit organizations
- Research sustainability-minded filmmakers, showrunners, talent, and creative collaborators
- Identify upcoming industry events and conferences for potential speaking engagements and/or sponsorship opportunities
- Research ethical brands for potential product placement on-screen and for on-set production use
- Research AI capabilities and emerging technology tools relevant to GPI’s work
- Assist with client communications and follow-up
- Help draft, design, and assemble presentations and client-facing documents
- Assist with the development and implementation of sustainability programs and wrap impact reports utilizing AI workflow tools
Marketing & Brand
Ideal for candidates with interest in marketing, design, communications, or social media.
- Support social media marketing strategies across platforms including Instagram and LinkedIn
- Assist in creating and updating brand marketing materials
- Help identify and draft content that reflects GPI’s voice and mission across platforms
Operations & Project Support
Ideal for candidates with interest in project management, business, or operations.
- Support project management, budget tracking, contacts organization, and document management
- Research and develop AI workflow tools
- Contribute to additional operational needs as they arise
What You Bring
- A genuine passion for sustainability and a foundational understanding of its principles
- Educational background in media production, environmental studies, communications, and/or business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mac and Google Workspace proficiency (or ability to learn)
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram and LinkedIn
- Experience with presentation and design tools (Keynote, PowerPoint, Canva, and/or Photoshop) preferred but not required
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management
- Must have a personal laptop and cellphone and be able to access communication tools (Slack, Teams) during work hours
