Within Mirova, the Carbon Team plays a pivotal role in the Voluntary Carbon Market. The team manages three funds, focusing on the financing of projects related to land and ecosystems restoration and protection. The targeted projects have positive climate impacts as well as local biodiversity and social co-benefits. If you are interested in project financing with strong impact on the ground, emerging countries, sustainable development, and climate mitigation (including biodiversity restoration and social impact), this offer is for you! The position is to be filled in January 2027 for a period of 6 months.

Main tasks & responsibilities

The Investment Analyst Intern will work on all tasks related to the funds’ investment lifecycle and process. You will have the opportunity to work on the following topics:

  • Support origination efforts by identifying and screening new investment opportunities.
  • Support the execution of new investments alongside the investment, the ESG and the Legal teams (e.g. financial modelling, commercial and impact due diligence, carbon integrity analysis, preparation of Investment Committee memo).
  • Support the monitoring of existing investments.
  • Ongoing market mapping and intelligence to support Mirova development in the asset class.

Requirements

Essential

  • Academic Background: University, Business School or Engineering School with a background in Finance and Sustainability.
  • Previous work experience: at least one internship of 6 months
  • Languages: French fluency, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Skills and motivation:

    • Genuine commitment to positive impact for nature and people.
    • Learning mindset that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
    • Genuine interest in understanding complex and innovative business models.
    • Familiarity with producing pitch decks and information memoranda.
    • Familiarity with financial modelling.
    • Disciplined and analytical thinking skills.
    • Can do and proactive mindset to be part of a small team environment, strong teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Previous work experience or personal interest in investing
  • Previous exposure or personal interest in developing countries
  • Experience or personal interest towards the Natural Capital and / or Carbon Markets
