Administrative Student Intern/Volunteers will apply knowledge and skills acquired in school under experienced supervision in a community mental health setting to increase their knowledge in specific targeted services aligned with educational requirements. Interns in this position are matched to supervisors in one of the following departments based on the student’s education track and career goals:
• Marketing and Communications

Students will work closely with supervisors to research, create, update, and implement program projects or initiatives in their assigned departments that benefit the organization’s employees. Students in these positions will apply critical thinking, creative problem solving, and practical communication skills to complete tasks as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Currently enrolled in an associates, bachelors, masters or doctoral program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or other similar fields
  3. Valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation, proof of current auto insurance

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Students seeking placement should require non-specific supervision

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Observe and shadow qualified supervising staff engaging in internal services
  2. Complete research on best practices for departments issued by guiding bodies
  3. Review existing work and update as required
  4. Assist with department assessments and development of processes related to the field
  5. Assist with managing and supporting a variety of department needs

Non-Essential Functions

  1. Interns may be asked to participate in learning experiences that are deemed appropriate by the supervisor
  2. Other duties as assigned
